This past week at Haddo Country Park has had some wonderful weather and some excellent wildlife sightings!

On Wednesday, I walked around the lake and spotted one of our resident grey herons watching the water. I used to opportunity to snap a few pictures of this lovely bird before it took off, dipping its clawed feet into the lake and catching an eel! A rare and amazing sight to behold.

We had some wonderful flora based events in the park, lead by John Malster. And on Thursday and Friday, a number of children were taking part in the John Muir Award. I tagged along on the Thursday for an excursion around the park, learning of the plants and animals found in the area.

What's On:

This coming week at haddo, our young John Muir Awardees continue their work towards the prestigious award, and on the Sunday, we have another fantastic flower walk lead by John Malster! Learn all about the common plants of the country park, from names and families to medicinal properties! £5 per person, starts at 2pm.
