The car park field was full of waggy tails and tasty treats last Sunday as we hosted the annual DAWGS Day In The Country dog show and family fun day.
Classes ranged from the hugely prestigious Best Haddo Hound to the (slightly!) less prestigious seven legged race and shakiest paw classes...
With the exception of a very brief hailstorm mid-afternoon, the weather was lovely and it was great to see so many happy, healthy, well-behaved dogs in the park, including lots and lots who had been rescued and happily rehomed.
Huge thanks to DAWGS for organising such a great event, and to Ellon Rotary, the Scouts and everyone else who helped out on the day.
If you're thinking of getting a dog then please do consider taking on a rescue dog who needs a home. If you'd like any advice or to chat about rehoming a dog then DAWGS are happy to help, and you can find all their details on their website thedawghouse.co.uk
Our younger singers take centre stage at the end of this week with the Voices Summer Concert. Haddo Childrens Voices (for young children P1-P5) and the two Haddo Voices choirs (for older children and teenagers) will be showcasing their talents. The concert stats at 7pm on Friday and tickets are available on the door.
If you're under 18 and interested in singing then the three choirs always welcome new members regardless of experience. You can find out more about our young people's choirs at the HHCOS website
The summer-long Energetica Walking and Wildlife Festival starts in earnest this week, with a lovely selection of events for all ages, from long coastal walks to rockpooling at Peterhead.
Our Energetica events, including Puffin-spotting walks at Bullers of Buchan and Bat Watch here at Haddo take place on the 6th and 13th June. You can find details of our events on this website and details of all other Energetica events at energetica.uk.com/festival2015/
