A Little Bit Of Magic

20 Oct 2016

The office is a tangle of costumes, carnival masks and tripods at the moment as we get ready for what should be a fantastical, magical weekend.

Lights for Halloween Magic on Friday and Sunday are (hopefully) arrriving soon, bonfire is almost ready and our volunteers have made some amazing costumes for the woodland fairies and witches that you'll get to meet on the night. There'll be drinks, soup and fancy pieces on sale too courtesy of the NTS Cafe In The Park.

Friday looks like it's going to be sold out and there won't be any tickets available on the door. There should still be some on the door tickets for Sunday but they'll be first-come first-served and could go quickly so best to book online if you're planning to come along.

You can come in any time after 7pm and stay as long as you like- if you've got younger kids then you don't have to stay until 9pm if that's after their bedtime!

Tickets available from our online box office at buytickets.at/haddohousecountrypark

Still a couple of places left on our Photography Workshops as well, including our new workshop on digital image manipulation and an evening playing with the Halloween lights. Booking and details on our events page.

Castles & Clock Towers

This Thursday and Friday Haddo's hosting the North East Scotland Preservation Trust's 2016 conference- this year talking about how historic buildings in the North East can (and have been) reused and repurposed without losing any of their heritage or character. You can come along for a day of talks on the Thursday or add on a day of site visits and tours to Haddo, Portsoy and historic Banff on the Friday.

The conference is open to all and you can find more details on the NESPT website

Last Chance Madonna

Last chance (for the moment) to see the Haddo Madonna on display this weekend. The house will be open for short tours on Saturday from 10am-1pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm.

The long term display plans for the Madonna are still being arranged and we'll keep you updated as soon as we know something for definite.
